Mazula is the original music journey of Vusa and Zoe Mazula. Vusa and Zoe met in London while in separate bands.
They got married in Cape Town on Noordhoek Beach, after which they immigrated to create a much loved live music venue called, Zula Sound Bar. Zula hosted the very best of Cape Town’s original music, art, fashion, poetry, comedy and theatre for over a decade. It took Vusa and Zoe 18 years to sing together, but when they did, the songs poured out.

About Time, is their first album release and was written and recorded in Cape Town. South African Producer and lead guitarist, Willem Moller has created magic on this album, capturing the energy of the live studio recording of the eight top musicians. Wednesday 10th December album launch, features the original full band line up on the album; Salty (Zimbabwe) on Drums – Roger Bashew (SA) on Bass – Derek Craig (SA) on Percussion – Gary King (UK) on Keys – Kathleen Eggers (SA) on Violin – Vusa Mazula (Zim/UK), Composer, Acoustic Guitar & Vocals – Zoe Mazula (UK) Composer & Vocals.

It is a very special night for Mazula. Being independent musicians, they fund all their projects from their music. The Album is called About Time, purely because it is about time they release this album, as well as the current shift in our times and the illusion of time that is appearing. The night will open with singer/songwriter Bush Diva, who is not only a great artiste but also a very fond and lifelong friend of Vusa and Zoe, who has supported Mazula’s journey from the moment they arrived in South Africa.

Mazula is now based in Zimbabwe. Putting their music into action by releasing ‘Shoulders of Giants’ song as a fundraiser for both orphaned and wild elephants in Victoria Falls, Mazula achieved the building of a new watering hole through the release and awareness the song built. This song is not on the album but can be purchased on their website, with funds ongoing to elephant conservation.

In fact, any seats booked under the same email address we will assume are together and arrange seating at one table. If this is not the case, however, or if you are booking with friends under different email addresses, just let us know and we’ll make a plan to seat you together.
